Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accused the UPA government of 'treachery' for its inaction against Pakistan following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. His remarks came during the Shiv Sena's annual Dussehra rally, where he referenced recent comments by Congress leader P Chidambaram regarding the incident.

Shinde criticized Uddhav Thackeray, head of the rival Shiv Sena faction, accusing him of working against his own party members. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive response to terror threats, describing the contrast between UPA's 'helplessness' and Modi's assertive leadership.

The deputy CM also commented on the heavy rains in Maharashtra, promising that the Shiv Sena would assist those affected by the weather-related disruptions. He ended by affirming the alliance of Shiv Sena with BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP for upcoming local body elections.
