Jagdish Vishwakarma is on the path to become the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Gujarat unit, marking a pivotal moment in the state's political landscape. As the only candidate, his presidency is a foregone conclusion, replacing outgoing president C R Paatil.

The official declaration of Vishwakarma's position is slated for Saturday at the BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar. The ceremony will be attended by prominent party members, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, underscoring the significance of this leadership transition.

This change at the helm comes after the BJP issued a call for nominations which closed without any competition for Vishwakarma, a seasoned politician and current state minister serving his third term as MLA from Nikol in Ahmedabad.
