BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari took part in a Ram Navami procession on Thursday in Bhabanipur, the same Kolkata constituency where he will contest against TMC leader Mamata Banerjee in upcoming elections.
Heightened security was in place across West Bengal, particularly in Howrah and Hooghly, areas known for previous unrest on this day. Despite initial police resistance, the Calcutta High Court allowed two processions in Howrah under strict conditions.
Adhikari's procession moved through Bhabanipur, ending near Chief Minister Banerjee's residence, as the BJP attempts to win this crucial seat. Additional Ram Navami activities occurred in Uttar Dinajpur and Birbhum, reinforcing widespread participation.
