Telangana Demands Equitable Representation in Lok Sabha

Telangana Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday claimed demands for equitable representation in the Lok Sabha are being unfairly criticized. Babu emphasized it is a constitutional right for states to seek fair representation, questioning the portrayal of such demands as faults.

Babu raised concerns about the lack of proportional representation, arguing that merely doubling seat numbers in larger states does not equate to equitable democratic engagement in national politics. He insisted on legitimate demands for fair engagement.

The Minister urged the Centre to heed Southern states' concerns, highlighting the duty to address apprehensions from states like Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called for further action to ensure fair seat allocation during the delimitation discussions in Parliament.
