In a fiery address at an election meeting in Howrah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for praising the Hooghly River's cleanliness while ignoring the polluted condition of the Yamuna in Delhi. She accused the BJP-led government of failing to maintain the national capital's water quality.
Banerjee also defended her state's record on women's safety, challenging Modi's remarks and urging him to compare it with BJP-governed regions like Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. She also criticized the BJP for causing distress through the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, attributing several deaths to the process.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in her party's success in the upcoming polls, dismissing Shah's remarks about TMC and questioning the BJP's administrative tactics post-Bihar elections. Banerjee offered to personally cook and send fish dishes to Modi, highlighting Bengal's hospitality amidst disagreements over food policies.
