West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has publicly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent boat ride on the clean Hooghly River, contrasting it with the pollution in the Yamuna River in Delhi. Addressing an election rally in Howrah, Banerjee claimed the BJP administration in Delhi is responsible for the river's condition.

She further challenged Modi's statements on women's safety in West Bengal by comparing it to BJP-ruled states like Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, where she alleged attacks on women are frequent. Additionally, Banerjee condemned the BJP and Election Commission for the stress-related deaths linked to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, citing over 300 fatalities.

Banerjee also questioned remarks by Union Home Minister Amit Shah about publicly punishing TMC members, and expressed confidence in her party's electoral success. Highlighting efforts to create job opportunities, she accused the BJP and CPI(M) of obstructing initiatives in West Bengal, pointing to biased criticism focusing on the state while ignoring issues elsewhere.
