According to reports, invigilators at a college in Madivala forced five Brahmin students to take off their 'janeu' before sitting for the Common Entrance Test (CET) on Friday. This incident has reignited previously unresolved issues over religious symbols in educational institutions.
Following the uproar, the college suspended the involved invigilator, and an official inquiry has been ordered. Police have also taken steps by detaining three staff members for questioning.
