Trump Dismisses Iran's Proposal Amid Tense Ceasefire Talks
US President Donald Trump called the ceasefire with Iran 'weak' following his rejection of Iran's peace proposal. He emphasized no pressure would divert the US from pursuing complete victory. The conflict has disrupted global oil routes, and negotiations remain stalled as tension continues.
US President Donald Trump, on Monday, criticized the ceasefire with Iran, describing it as 'weak' and 'on life support'. This statement came after he dismissed Iran's proposal to end the ongoing months-long conflict as 'totally unacceptable'.
Speaking at the Oval Office, Trump asserted, 'They think that I'll get tired, but there's no pressure at all. We're going to have a complete victory.' The rejection followed the receipt of Iran's proposal, which was expected to potentially end the war that began on February 28, affecting global oil supplies.
The conflict paused on April 8 with a ceasefire, yet lasting peace remains elusive. The US continues to demand Iran's assurance to cease uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting sanctions and unlocking frozen funds while also negotiating the release of the Strait of Hormuz blockades, crucial for oil supply.
