In a fiery critique, former Punjab Education Minister and Congress MLA Pargat Singh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of pretending to be adversaries while secretly collaborating. Singh described their public rivalry as a 'sham fight', asserting that the BJP plays the role of the 'big goon' while AAP is the 'small goon'.

Singh escalated his attack by criticizing how the AAP government in Punjab allegedly misuses the Vigilance Department against political opponents. He also alleged that the BJP rewards leaders with questionable backgrounds, citing examples from states like West Bengal and Assam, and claimed that the vigilance cases are often arbitrary and coercive.

Moreover, Singh pointed to the ideological influence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh over both BJP and AAP, suggesting that the true political battle is between PM Narendra Modi and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. He questioned the Punjab government's handling of the Bhakra Beas Management Board issue and accused AAP of undermining governance by yielding control to central agencies.
