In a critical political development, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol Thirumavalavan announced that the party's two MLAs would back Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Chief Minister Vijay, in Tamil Nadu's impending legislative floor test.
Thirumavalavan revealed the decision was driven by the looming risk of President's rule if TVK failed to secure the necessary majority of 118 seats within the 234-member assembly. Expressing confidence in Vijay's leadership, he underscored the VCK's commitment to fostering a secular administration in Tamil Nadu.
In the lead-up to the assembly showdown, Vijay held a whirlwind series of meetings with key political allies. The Indian Union Muslim League's recent unconditional support has boosted TVK's tally to 121, ensuring a majority and diminishing the risk of a governmental void.
