Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Secures Trust Vote

The Tamil Nadu Assembly witnessed a significant political maneuver on Wednesday as Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's TVK government secured a trust vote. This critical endorsement came through the support of allied parties including the Congress, VCK, and a rebelling faction of the AIADMK, spearheaded by notable figures SP Velumani and C Ve Shanmugam.

The session saw Chief Minister Vijay present the vote of confidence resolution, prompting responses from representatives across various political lines. Following a comprehensive debate, Speaker JCD Prabhakar announced the positive result after an organized division-wise voting process.

The resolution garnered 144 votes in favor, with 22 against, while five members, including PMK and BJP, chose neutrality. Significantly, the main opposition party, DMK, opted to stage a walkout prior to the voting. Among those supporting the government was MLA S Kamaraj, recently ousted from AMMK.
