B Y Vijayendra, BJP's state president in Karnataka, speculated on a possible leadership change within the Congress, suggesting that the party's central leadership intends to replace current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He cited failures in governance over the last three years as the key reason for this potential decision.
Vijayendra further noted that the state's administration is facing severe internal conflicts and inefficiencies, leading to his prediction of early Assembly elections. He highlighted scandals such as the Valmiki Development Corporation and MUDA site allotment scams, which, despite investigations clearing Siddaramaiah and his family, point to underlying governance issues.
He also charged that under Siddaramaiah, Karnataka has become heavily indebted, with liabilities nearing Rs 10 lakh crore, a situation he describes as a debt trap unlike any other in southern India. Vijayendra believes that regardless of any leadership changes within Congress, administrative confusion will persist, culminating in early elections. He mentioned BJP's focus on presenting their agenda and strategy, following a visit by BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
