Sunil Tatkare, the president of Maharashtra's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), recently articulated his frustration regarding what he perceives as a lack of support from fellow party members in the wake of criticism from the Opposition following Ajit Pawar's passing earlier this year.
He shared his concerns during a meeting attended by key party figures under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar at her official residence, Deogiri. Tatkare's comments highlighted the internal challenges facing the party. However, Chhagan Bhujbal, a senior NCP leader, urged Tatkare to leave past grievances behind and work towards a unified future.
Sunetra Pawar, who took over the leadership of the party after her husband's tragic demise, emphasized the importance of solidarity and strengthening the party's framework. Despite ongoing tensions with rival NCP (SP) led by Sharad Pawar, discussions during the meeting also covered internal administrative issues and upcoming event preparations.
The meeting did not address a previous clerical oversight in official communications with the Election Commission, which was attributed to an error and is set to be corrected. In closing, the NCP reaffirmed their commitment to work collaboratively under Sunetra Pawar's guidance.
