In a bid to assuage growing concerns about internal discord, former Tamil Nadu Minister and AIADMK leader SP Velumani reaffirmed the party's unity and determination to reclaim power in the state. Speaking at Coimbatore Airport, Velumani made his first visit since becoming a Member of the Legislative Assembly.

Velumani dismissed rumors about internal contests for party positions, affirming that AIADMK is their 'lifeline.' He underscored that cooperative efforts, especially under Edappadi K Palaniswami as General Secretary, are key to their resurgence. Concerns raised by himself and senior leader CV Shanmugam are set to be tackled progressively.

Addressing accusations from certain media, Velumani clarified that AIADMK's legislative support for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was a people's mandate and not a political maneuver. He emphasized unity with leaders like Shanmugam, with whom he maintains a close relationship. The party aims to overcome past setbacks and focus on development agendas for Tamil Nadu.
