In a significant administrative reshuffle, senior IAS officer Kaushal Raj Sharma has assumed the role of CEO at the Delhi Jal Board, effective immediately. This appointment marks a pivotal stride towards enhancing the water and sewer infrastructure in the national capital.

Sharma brings a wealth of experience from his tenure in Varanasi, where he spearheaded numerous urban infrastructure and riverfront initiatives. His leadership is anticipated to drive much-needed improvements in Delhi's water management systems.

The 2006 batch IAS officer replaces Shilpa Shinde, who has transitioned to the position of commissioner and secretary of the Delhi government's development department. According to a May 6 order by the services department, Shinde, also a 2006 AGMUT cadre officer, leaves behind a legacy of progress that Sharma is expected to continue and build upon.
