A head-on collision between two motorcycles in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district proved fatal for Shabnam, a 50-year-old woman, police reported on Sunday. The tragic accident unfolded near Bariarshah School in Kudwar area Saturday evening.
Shabnam and her husband were en route home from a wedding when they collided with another motorbike. She suffered critical injuries and was rushed by her family to a government medical college.
Despite efforts by medical staff, Shabnam succumbed to her injuries after two hours of treatment. Her body was released to her family and cremated on Saturday. Police Officer Amit Mishra confirmed that suspects have been detained for questioning.
