Alert in Marathwada: Jayakwadi Dam Nears Full Capacity Amid Heavy Rainfall

Authorities have issued a warning for Maharashtra's Marathwada region as the Jayakwadi dam, located on the Godavari river, reaches 83.73% of its capacity due to heavy rains.

The irrigation department reported that the area received 173.6 mm of rain, surpassing the monthly average. The dam supports multiple districts with water for drinking, industrial, and agricultural uses.

Residents are urged to avoid river areas, and authorities have been instructed to prepare for possible emergencies.
