Olympic Champion Laura Dahlmeier Struck by Rockfall in Pakistan

Laura Dahlmeier, a renowned German biathlete and double Olympic gold medallist, has sustained severe injuries after being caught in a rockfall in Pakistan's northern mountains.

The incident occurred as Dahlmeier attempted to climb Laila Peak alongside her colleague Marina Eva. Harsh weather conditions have delayed rescue helicopters.

The region has been plagued by heavy monsoon rains causing landslides and flooding, complicating the rescue efforts for Dahlmeier, who retired from professional sports in 2019.
