Landslides resulting from incessant rains have obstructed the trek route to Kedarnath near Munkatiya, causing a halt to the pilgrimage on Wednesday.
Approximately 2,500 pilgrims were left stranded in Gaurikund, with Rudraprayag police confirming that rescue teams are transporting them safely to Sonprayag. The restoration of the route is projected to take two to three days.
Authorities urge pilgrims to explore other spiritual locations nearby and ensure updates on the route's reopening are disseminated via the Rudraprayag Police's social media channels.
