In a significant move to expedite development projects, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta revealed that MLAs can now channel their funds through the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), circumventing the previously mandated routes through specific departments like the Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
This adjustment is designed to streamline project executions by allowing smaller-scale initiatives to be prioritized and handled more swiftly. Gupta's reforms introduce a new level of efficiency, aimed at eliminating financial and procedural bottlenecks that have hindered development.
The Chief Minister's Development Fund, with an earmarked Rs 1,400 crore for the 2025–26 fiscal year, is strategically structured to support local infrastructural needs.
