The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) announced its plan to release approximately 19,000 cusecs of water from the Pong dam's floodgates at Talwara, Hoshiarpur on Wednesday, as per standard monsoon operations.

District Commissioner Aashika Jain assured the public that these measures are routine and not cause for alarm, emphasizing ongoing coordination with the flood control department to ensure safety and preparedness.

Sub-divisional magistrates in Mukerian and Dasuya have been alerted, and emergency arrangements including evacuation plans, medical aid, and food supplies have been put in place to address any potential hazards.
