In a significant move towards boosting infrastructure, Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia has called for mapping projects in the north-east on the PM GatiShakti Portal. This initiative is expected to enhance the planning of future endeavors and streamline logistics in the region.
The minister participated in a virtual high-level task force meeting focused on 'Logistics, Infrastructure Connectivity in NER'. He urged the north-eastern states to align their logistics policies with the metrics prepared by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), aiming for rapid economic development through industrial clusters along transport corridors.
Several strategies were outlined to bridge gaps in infrastructure, including the convergence of the NER infrastructure grid, establishing a monitoring mechanism for priority projects, promoting multimodal logistics parks through policy incentives, and enhancing cross-border connectivity. The meeting witnessed participation from various state leaders who stressed the region's strategic significance as a gateway to Southeast Asia.
