The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall across Odisha over the coming four days due to a low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal. This weather system is anticipated to evolve into a depression within 24 hours.
According to the IMD, the depression is likely to make landfall on the morning of August 19 between south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts. This development means that different regions of Odisha will experience significant rainfall impacts.
Districts such as Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada are specifically at risk for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms on Monday, as per the IMD's alert.
