In a significant expansion, Apple India has leased roughly 2.7 lakh square feet of prime office space in Bangalore for a decade, with an initial monthly rent set at Rs 6.3 crore, data from Propstack reveals.
This lease involves multiple floors in Embassy Group's property and is a strategic move as Apple remains the largest mobile phone exporter from India, shipping iPhones worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore by the end of the financial year 2024-25.
Despite US President Donald Trump's disapproval of Apple's expansion into India, the multinational has finalized a lease agreement running from April 3, 2025, agreeing to annual rent increments leading to over Rs 1,000 crore in total obligations over ten years.
