In a decisive move, Andhra Pradesh aims to eliminate visible waste by January under the ongoing 'SwachAndhra' program. The directive, issued by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, includes extending 'SwachBharat' initiatives to all state parts. The administration is also tackling lingering legacy waste, aiming to clear 116 lakh tonnes by December 2025.
The campaign envisions a circular economy with five new parks across designated zones, and a shift to waste-to-energy projects. In parallel, the state's endeavors in the digital realm continue, notably with the introduction of the 'Mana Mitra' initiative, designed to expedite certificate issuance through WhatsApp governance.
Andhra Pradesh is set to become a global quantum computing hub, with IBM installing quantum computers in Amaravati by 2027 and plans for 100 startups in a designated quantum valley. Additionally, the government is enhancing disaster preparedness with an updated Real Time Governance System and a centralized data lake.
