Rescue efforts intensified in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district as five more bodies were recovered on Friday following devastating landslides and floods. This tragic event has now claimed seven lives, with two bodies found the previous day.

Devastated communities in Kuntari Laga Phali, Kuntari Laga Sarpani, Sera, and Dhurma villages witnessed heartbreak as search and rescue teams navigated through debris and heavy sludge. The tragic events unfolded approximately 260 km from Dehradun, further stressing an area already afflicted by land subsidence.

With 12 people injured and more than 95 displaced, Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari is spearheading rescue missions. The injured, some critically, are receiving treatment at AIIMS, Rishikesh, while evacuees are accommodated in makeshift relief camps equipped with necessary supplies.
