The Delhi Pollution Control Committee is preparing to unveil an enhanced version of its AI-supported platform, DUST Portal 2.0. This initiative aims to ensure continuous oversight of construction sites in Delhi to help curb dust pollution, officials announced. The system employs advanced artificial intelligence, real-time analytics, and digital monitoring tools.
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa highlighted that the portal seeks to enforce dust control standards by detecting deviations in pollution levels. It features QR code-based site monitoring which will allow field officers to efficiently track compliance and environmental performance. The upgrade is seen as a significant move towards leveraging technology for environmental governance and improving air quality in Delhi.
With integrated AI cameras and continuous air quality monitoring stations, the system will provide detailed assessments of construction site impacts on air quality. The platform also incorporates a three-tier AI alert system, strengthening enforcement actions against violations.
