In the aftermath of heavy showers, Haryana and Punjab experienced a significant drop in maximum temperatures on Sunday, providing relief from the previously intense heat.
Chandigarh witnessed a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, significantly below normal levels. Meanwhile, districts such as Ambala, Karnal, Hisar, and Rohtak in Haryana also recorded temperatures well below expected norms. Similar trends were observed in Punjab, with cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Patiala reporting considerable deviations below the usual temperatures.
This notable decline in temperatures follows substantial rainfall on Saturday, which brought a much-needed respite across the region. The meteorological department noted that the cooling effects could continue, maintaining the pleasant conditions observed over the weekend.
