The Egyptian soccer club Zamalek has announced the termination of its contract with Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro by mutual consent. The decision comes after a short stint of under three months marked by poor results.

Peseiro, who took charge on February 14, was unable to steer the defending champions to success, as they were ousted from both the CAF Confederation Cup and the Egyptian League Cup. A lackluster performance in the league also saw Zamalek drop to third place, trailing leaders Pyramids by seven points.

Peseiro has a rich coaching history, having led national teams of Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, along with club teams such as Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal and the UAE's Al Wahda and Sharjah. Despite his extensive experience, his tenure with Zamalek was short-lived. The club extended their best wishes for Peseiro's future endeavors following the contract termination.
