Ayush Kumar's resilience was on full display as he contributed significantly to Bihar's silver medal win in Sepak Takraw at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025. Despite the tragic news of his grandfather's passing, Ayush, part of the third Regu, soldiered on with remarkable determination.
In the finals, a spirited Bihar team narrowly lost to the formidable Manipur, who clinched the gold in a closely contested men's match. While the men's final was a nail-biter, the women's final saw a dominant performance by Manipur, who comfortably secured the top spot by defeating Kerala.
The Sepak Takraw event, making its debut at these games, drew packed crowds, underscoring the sport's rising popularity in Bihar. Ayush, only four years into the sport, hopes the medal will inspire others to pursue Sepak Takraw as a career.
