Rajasthan Royals have made key changes to their lineup by signing South African pacer Nandre Burger as a replacement for the injured Sandeep Sharma, following his finger injury in the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Burger joins the Royals after an announcement was made via an IPL media advisory on Thursday.
Sandeep Sharma, who played ten matches for Rajasthan this season, claimed nine wickets before being sidelined. Known for his impressive bowling record, Sandeep has collected 146 wickets in 137 IPL games, with a notable best of 5/18. Despite his absence, Rajasthan has found promise in Burger, who fetched Rs 3.5 crore this season.
In addition to Burger, the Royals welcomed young South African batting talent Lhuan-dre Pretorius as a replacement for the injured Nitish Rana. Pretorius, coming in at his base price of Rs 30 lakh, has shown potential with 911 T20 runs, highlighted by a successful ICC U19 World Cup campaign representing South Africa.
