AIFF Launches Benevolence Fund for Football Contributors

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed its commitment to establishing a 'Benevolence Fund' intended to offer financial support for medical needs to retired football staff, including players, coaches, and referees.
A committee will be formed to assess individual applications, ensuring that each case is reviewed fairly. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, contributing Rs 1,00,000 himself, highlighted the charitable nature of the initiative as a nod to the enduring contributions of Indian football service members.
The fund will initially receive Rs 5,00,000 from AIFF with the prospect of enhancement through charity events and further revenue sources. Additionally, a Pension Fund has been proposed for AIFF personnel with significant service, while the organization moves forward with financial audits and policy reviews.
