In a landmark move, FIFA has unveiled its first talent academy in India, crafted in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Telangana government. The facility aims to nurture young football talent with top-notch training and comprehensive support systems.
Positioned at Gachibowli Stadium Complex, the academy will host 60 elite players—30 boys under 14 and 30 girls under 16, including a local contingent from Telangana, as disclosed by an AIFF release. The establishment reflects India's strategic push towards structured grassroots football development.
AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey highlighted the academy's role in fulfilling India's ambition to qualify for the U17 World Cups. AIFF will manage the training and scouting, while Telangana oversees infrastructure and support, as part of AIFF's 'Vision 2047' for elevating Indian football.
