The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has appointed a contractor to develop a pioneering world-class ice skating rink at the Dwarka Sports Complex. This 4,200 square meter facility, located near the Urban Extension Road and Dwarka Expressway, marks a significant boost in the capital's sports and recreational infrastructure.
Constructed under Lt Governor VK Saxena's guidance, the rink will adhere to international standards with a 60x30 meter dimension. The selected agency will build and operate the facility through a 15-year license model, collaborating with international partners. The rink serves the dual purpose of recreational enjoyment and training in ice hockey, figure skating, curling, and ice skating.
This climate-controlled rink promises year-round access, vital during Delhi's prolonged summers. It follows DDA's recent recreational endeavor, hot air balloon rides, showcasing their commitment to expanding Delhi's urban leisure offerings and catering to rising interest in alternative sports.
