Independence Cup Pickleball Tournament: A Fit India's Patriotic Play

The Universal Pickleball Association (UPA) is set to host its inaugural Independence Cup Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, August 17, at Pickleplay in Noida. The competition aims to foster patriotic enthusiasm and promote an active lifestyle, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India vision.
With more than 100 competitors and over 150 matches scheduled across 11 age categories, the event marks a significant occasion for the burgeoning sport of pickleball. The UPA, established in October 2022 by sports enthusiasts, has conducted 40 boot camps and over 30 tournaments to spread the sport's appeal in Uttar Pradesh.
Highlighting the sport's inclusivity, UPA's initiatives resonate with the broader 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' vision. Local players like Jyoti Dang Kandhari have made strides in the sport, reflecting the positive impact of UPA's efforts. The association continues to expand its reach and infrastructure, supporting grassroots development of pickleball in Uttar Pradesh.
