Revving Up the Sprints: New Locations on the 2026 F1 Calendar

The 2026 Formula 1 calendar is set to feature six sprint events, introducing this high-speed excitement to new venues. Montreal, Zandvoort, and Singapore are poised to host their inaugural sprint weekends, marking a fresh chapter for F1.

Returning to the sprint lineup is Silverstone, last hosting such an event in 2021. The season kicks off with Shanghai and Miami, ensuring diverse global participation. The season comprises 24 races, announced earlier in June.

Interestingly, no sprint events are slated for the final six rounds of the championship, diverging sharply from this year's lineup with three sprints in the last six grand prix weekends. Sprint races, at approximately 100 kilometers, typically boost TV viewership by 10% over regular weekends.
