The Indian team management plans to rest Jasprit Bumrah for Friday's inconsequential Asia Cup group league match against Oman, aiming to preserve the pacer's strength for more critical fixtures. With the demanding schedule ahead, which includes four possible matches within a week, strategic player management becomes essential.
Although it's unclear if Bumrah himself prefers to sit out the match, the team is expected to make a pragmatic decision to have him in top form for the intense concluding stages of the tournament. Arshdeep Singh or Harshit Rana may replace him, with Arshdeep nearing a T20I milestone.
On the batting front, India seeks to refine their performance by affording more match time to the top and middle order, especially against Oman, before meeting tougher opponents like Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Fours.
