The inaugural Archery Premier League (APL) is setting a new standard for the sport with an unprecedented franchise-based competition. World number ones Andrea Becerra in compound and Brady Ellison in recurve headline the event, held October 2-12 at the Yamuna Sports Complex.
With world-class athletes like Mexico's Matias Grande and Netherlands' Mike Schloesser participating alongside top Indian archers selected through world rankings and trials, the APL introduces an innovative format for maximum audience engagement.
Focusing on mixed team duels with both recurve and compound bows, the APL aims to transform archery's status and drive India toward achieving its first Olympic archery medal, according to AAI secretary general Virender Sachdeva.
