This unprecedented crackdown follows the recent Maharashtra government decision to categorize narcotics manufacturing, possession, transport, and sale as organized crimes.
A July 11 raid in Digha by the Anti Narcotics Cell led to six arrests, including key suspect Shantabai Kisan Karandekar.
