In a display of dominance, Namibia secured their place in next year's T20 World Cup with a comprehensive win over Tanzania in the African Qualifiers semi-final held in Harare on Thursday. With a 63-run victory, Namibia became the first team from their regional qualifier to earn a slot in the marquee event.

The semi-final match saw Namibia opting to bat first after Tanzania's captain Kassim Nassoro won the toss. Despite an initial stumble at 41/4, Namibia recovered impressively, thanks to a stellar performance from JJ Smit and captain Gerhard Erasmus. Smit top-scored with 61 not out, while Erasmus contributed a solid 55, helping their team reach a formidable total of 174/6.

In response, Tanzania struggled from the get-go, losing early wickets to Namibia's effective bowling attack. Smit, continuing his match-winning form, dismantled Tanzania's batting lineup, picking up three crucial wickets and earning the Player of the Match title. With this win, Namibia joins 16 other teams already qualified for the World Cup, alongside prominent cricket nations such as India, Australia, and England.
