Cricket West Indies Launches Reform Agenda for Revitalization
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has unveiled a comprehensive reform plan targeting both short and long-term improvements within the region's cricket framework. Key areas include enhancing coaching support, upgrading player development facilities, and addressing financial constraints. The strategy involves restructuring pathways and instituting a national framework for player growth.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) is set to overhaul its cricket framework following unsatisfactory performances. A special CWI committee, led by notable former players like Brian Lara and Clive Lloyd, has outlined a series of reforms aimed at elevating the sport on the Caribbean islands.
The committee pinpointed ten major challenges hindering the progress of West Indies cricket, such as dwindling tournament quality, coaching deficiencies, and financial constraints. Short-term plans include hiring a batting coach and performance psychologist, while long-term strategies focus on structural and financial reform, including the setup of state-of-the-art facilities.
CWI's director, Miles Bascombe, emphasizes the commitment to strengthening the regional cricket infrastructure and ensuring future success by offering players comprehensive support systems.
