Dhruv Jurel etched his name in the annals of Indian cricket by becoming the 12th wicketkeeper to score a Test century. On the second day of the opening Test against the West Indies in Ahmedabad, Jurel, undaunted by his previous near miss against England, boldly reached the milestone.

His moment of triumph came as he decisively struck a spinning delivery from West Indies captain Roston Chase, securing his hundred in just his sixth Test. Jurel's celebration puzzled spectators, yet admiration flowed, with his teammates and crowd joining in applause for his stellar performance.

Jurel's innings featured an explosive display of power, including a 206-run stand with vice-captain Jadeja, who also scored a century. As India ended the day at 448/5, leading by 286 runs, Jurel's contribution, coupled with Jadeja's strength, underscored India's formidable position in the series.
