The incident transpired in the intense 19th over when Pollard, known for his fiery persona, directed abusive language at the fourth umpire, which violated article 2.3 of the IPL's code. Consequently, Pollard also received one demerit point.
The IPL confirmed in a press release that Pollard admitted to and accepted the offense. Having been fined previously for similar conduct breaches, Pollard's actions highlight ongoing challenges in maintaining disciplinary standards in cricket's fast-paced environment.
