Iran Soccer Team's US World Cup Journey in Question Amid Political Tensions

Iran's national soccer team arrived in Turkey on Monday for a training camp ahead of their planned participation in the U.S. World Cup. However, uncertainty remains due to rising tensions after recent attacks in February.

FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafstrom shared optimism regarding Iran's involvement following discussions with FFIRI President Mehdi Taj, despite the visa challenges. Iran applied for U.S. visas in Turkey, as the FFIRI President's recent denial to enter Canada raised concerns.

Iran wanted to shift their World Cup matches to Mexico due to IRGC-related restrictions, but FIFA insists they play on originally scheduled grounds. Their group matches are scheduled to start with a game against New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15.
