Four Indian Officials Join Prestige All-Women Panel for ICC Women's T20 World Cup

Four Indian women have been enlisted in the International Cricket Council's all-female panel of match officials, set to oversee the Women's T20 World Cup kicking off on June 12 in England and Wales. This marks the third consecutive World Cup featuring exclusively female match officials.
The Indian representatives include match referee GS Lakshmi and umpires Vrinda Rathi and Janani N. The ICC highlighted the importance of enhancing gender representation across all levels of the sport. CEO Sanjog Gupta stated, 'The ICC takes into consideration a comprehensive assessment of its sports officials.' The tournament will also spotlight new officials such as Candace La Borde and Shathira Jakir Jesy, making their debuts.
Among the 14 umpires and four match referees, Australian Claire Polosak is noted for her extensive experience, having officiated in 22 matches. India is scheduled to start its World Cup journey against Pakistan on June 14, gearing up for a competitive season ahead.
