Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has firmly etched its name in the annals of Indian Premier League (IPL) history by securing its third consecutive title. The dynamic duo of Phil Salt and Suyash Sharma, who continue to build on their growing legacy, has now been part of rare consecutive championship triumphs, having previously won with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024.

In a thrilling IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad, RCB outshined Gujarat Titans (GT) thanks to a mesmerizing performance by Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten at 75 off just 42 deliveries. This victory marks RCB's inclusion in the league of elite teams such as five-time champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, which have previously secured back-to-back titles.

A key component to RCB's success was the formidable Phil Salt, whose explosive batting and wicketkeeping contributed 202 runs in just six matches this season, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 168.33. As for Suyash Sharma, he enjoyed a productive season with nine wickets in 12 matches. Despite a resilient fight from GT, led by Washington Sundar's diligent half-century, RCB chased down the 156-run target with Kohli's stellar leadership and powerful batting making the difference.
