Bengaluru Woos Quantum Tech Firms Amid Maharashtra's IT Exodus

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has made an open call to quantum tech firms considering relocation from Maharashtra, urging them to set up shop in Bengaluru. The invitation follows reports of the Hinjewadi IT Park's shift from Pune to cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Speaking at the Quantum India Bengaluru 2025 summit, Shivakumar highlighted the availability of skilled manpower and infrastructure in Bengaluru, assuring companies of the necessary support and resources they might need. The summit, hosted by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society, in tandem with IISc's Quantum Technology Initiative, aimed to bolster Karnataka's position in the tech sector.

The move comes after Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's remarks about the possible relocation of Hinjewadi IT Park, which caused a stir. Pawar, during an inspection in Pune, expressed concern over the impending shift, prompting speculations on Maharashtra's waning influence in the tech domain.
