Digitisation stands at the forefront of India's aerospace industry transformation, enabling it to elevate as a global manufacturing hub, stated Banmali Agarwala, Chairman of Tata Advanced Systems. Speaking at an IFQM symposium, Agarwala emphasized the critical nature of digital integration in the sector's growth trajectory.
During a panel discussion, Agarwala highlighted the industry's lag in adopting digital practices, mentioning reliance on outdated methods. He stressed the urgency of digitising basic platforms to facilitate scalability. Drawing from examples, he noted the need for Indian firms to develop production capacity beyond prototyping, using Tejas as a point of reference.
Agarwala underscored the necessity for Indian aerospace firms to better absorb and build on global technologies. While acknowledging the acquisition of international tech, he urged local firms to focus on internal development to lessen dependency on foreign technologies and drive sustainable growth in the sector.
