In a bid to bolster cybersecurity across Europe, OpenAI, a leader in artificial intelligence, has unveiled its latest models, including the GPT-5.5-Cyber. These models are now available to Deutsche Telekom, BBVA, and other European corporations as part of the Trusted Access for Cyber program.
OpenAI's initiative seeks to provide critical industries such as financial services, telecoms, energy, and public services with advanced AI tools to enhance their defenses. Emmanuel Marill, OpenAI's MD for EMEA, emphasized the need for balancing accessibility, utility, and safety with increasing AI capabilities.
Responding to the threats posed by frontier AI models, OpenAI has extended open access to their cybersecurity solutions to the European Commission. The announcement comes alongside plans for a new $4 billion enterprise focused on AI deployment and the acquisition of AI consulting firm, Tomoro.
