The Bihar government has taken a significant step toward sustainable transportation and technological advancement. In a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, an amendment to the state's Electric Vehicle (EV) policy was approved.

The revised policy aspires to ensure that at least 30% of new vehicle sales are electric by 2030. This initiative aims to cut down greenhouse gas emissions and improve state air quality. The policy, through the 'Chief Minister Bihar Environment-Friendly Transport Employment Scheme', offers incentives via Direct Benefit Transfer for purchasing electric commercial and personal vehicles. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing women's mobility and providing financial support for setting up EV charging stations.

In a move to boost technological development, the cabinet also okayed the establishment of the Bihar Artificial Intelligence Mission. Collaborating with Singapore's GFTN and NUS-AIDF, Bihar is set to launch an advanced AI certification program and the Aryabhata Technology Observatory to foster AI and quantum technology innovation. Efforts are underway to attract global investment and interest through prestigious international events.
